And So It Begins

I am a Pro Bettor who previously enjoyed a career as a professional sportsman for a decade before the Millennium. Then, upon finishing my career, I have used my assumed knowledge combined with my acumen in mathematics to bet for profit for over thirty years now.

In this chronicle series, I will build a portfolio of my betting with the intention of detailing how to make a profit over the long/short term for readers to enjoy, practice, and follow.

Like all well-respected bettors over the years, I practice responsible wagering with my expendable income. In fact, despite my Pro Bettor title, I bet for a second income with a separate bankroll on top of work and other investments.

What Are the Sports That the Pro Bettor Will Bet?

Primarily I am a golf bettor and to start the series I will be detailing each week’s results and investigating how those eventualities affect the futures markets of the upcoming U.S. Open and Open Championship.

I have been profiting from golf betting for over three decades and will articulate the techniques used plus discuss how to collate player records, compartmentalize them, then utilize them from week to week.

On the completion of the Open Championship, I will be looking ahead to the FedEx Series and finding futures bets for it. As golf season begins to wind down, you can expect to follow my NFL futures betting portfolio, which I will begin building approximately a month before the season starts.  Then throughout the season, I will be chronicling how I build my betting portfolio for you to follow.

To enable profits as a Pro Bettor, I will show my methods of locking in profits during the NFL season using arbitrage.

What is Arbitrage?

To lock in profits during the NFL season, I will use a system called arbitrage and will be detailing my intentions, and hopefully articulate the correct weeks to lock in profits. If profit becomes unobtainable at an event, it will become about managing risk, which is part and parcel of being a Pro Bettor.

Through my contacts and assessment, I always find the early value in the futures markets of the NFL Division, Championship, season wins, and Super Bowl markets.

For example, in recent seasons my previous column showed a bet on the Arizona Cardinals for the NFC West at (+800) in the preseason, then mid-way through the season I locked in the Los Angeles Rams at (+350) when the Cardinals were leading, and it had become a two-horse race locking in profits regardless of the outcome.

That is only one example of a technique amongst others used and they will be detailed for your leisure.

What Can You Expect From the Chronicles of a Pro Bettor?

Here at Joe Wager, the upcoming Chronicles of a Pro Bettor will articulate the ebbs and flows of being a professional bettor discussing how the natural variance of results brings ups and downs. This can be trying when betting for a living and our Pro Bettor will discuss dealing with those swings in fortune.

As a reader, you can expect the Pro Bettor’s futures bets each week and on occasion a prediction or two on that week’s action on the PGA Tour or NFL.

Banker Selections

On weeks when appropriate, the Pro Bettor will give readers and followers a banker one-off bet for that week’s action!

There is never any guarantee of profit short term, but the Pro Bettor has been hand-picked because of his long-term record. If you want to share in the fun and enjoyment of his betting portfolio you are most welcome.

Either way, the Chronicles of a Pro Bettor will lay bare the process of gambling for a living, sharing the ups and downs.

What Bankroll Should be Used to Follow Pro Bettor?

The Pro Bettor wants to say that betting is enjoyment, so always set aside a bankroll you can afford to lose. To make it easy to follow Pro Bettor’s starting bankroll will be $1,000 and running totals applied.

What Sportsbooks to Use for Pro Bettor?
