Emilia Clarke

In case you are uninformed, Emilia Clarke is a 37-year-old British actress who was born in London.

Clarke, inspired by a theater production for which her father was responsible and to which her mother took her, developed an enthusiasm for acting from a very early age in her life. She would, as a young girl, appear in different plays. Obviously, she already proved to be very talented, and she gained entrance into the Drama Centre London, a prestigious institution where she studied acting.

After graduating from drama school in 2009, her career was quick to take off. While she did some other work, her breakthrough came in 2011 — two years after graduation — when she landed a role in Game of Thrones for which she remains most known today.

Let’s take a closer look at her career before betting on her new project at top-rated sportsbooks.

Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones

Her ability to land a role in this series is tremendous for her career, etching her a relatively prominent place in the world of culture. This series is considered to be a fantasy drama: it contains elements of both the genres of fantasy and drama.

In this series, which lasted eight seasons, she played the character of Daenerys Targaryen. It is a bit ironic to discuss Emilia Clarke’s character in the context of the show’s alleged realism, because, compared to the development of the other characters, her character development might be the most controversial one.

A bit unpredictably, she goes mad, going from a heroic sort of character who saves and rescues others to an outright villain. She progresses in other respects as well, starting out as a scared and timid sort of character next to her parents to one who is anything but scared or timid.

Clarke’s acting talent was fully on display in this series, as she executed her role for all eight seasons of the show.

Besides Game of Thrones

This actress has played more roles in her career than the one for which she is most known: to give arguably the two most prominent examples, she played Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys and was the lead in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

However, it is also interesting to speak of the roles that she did not play.

Fans of Game of Thrones enjoy discussing the career paths that actors and actresses on the series traversed outside of it, and many seem to think that Clarke’s career has been somewhat disappointing outside of this series. It is interesting to consider the extent to which Clarke’s own choices have contributed to this sense of disappointment in her career outside of Game of Thrones.

For example, she turned down a role in the well-known movie Fifty Shades of Grey because the movie was going to feature nudity. Now, in Game of Thrones, she had to appear nude on screen. So it is not like nudity was anything new to her.

It is precisely because she already appeared nude on the television series that she did not want to take on another role in which she was to appear nude. She did not want to be thought of as someone who appears nude on screen. In other words, she had a feeling of being pinned down to an undesirable perception. There are, of course, nobler things to be thought of than as an actress who exhibits her body.

Clarke’s New Role

Among other roles in the past, there is a new role that Clarke was glad to take on. Peacock will debut a series called Ponies, although Peacock has yet to determine exactly when this series will debut.

To be clear, this is not a series about horses. Ponies stands for “persons of no interest.” It takes place in the thick of the Cold War, in 1977 in Moscow, where two secretaries, working in the American embassy, both suffer the mysterious death of their husband.

Clarke will play one of those secretaries. She will be a highly intellectual woman who becomes a CIA operative. This series will be a thriller, and Clarke will play a significant role in it.
