Kenya Moore

If you aren’t familiar with The Real Housewives of Atlanta, you might be familiar with The Real Housewives. It is a franchise of which there are various installments: there is The Real Housewives of New York City, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and several others.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is a reality series on television that made its premiere back in 2008 – The Real Housewives itself debuted in 2006. This Atlanta-based installment of the franchise has made it through fifteen seasons and now the sixteenth is coming up.

Kenya Moore has been an integral part of this reality series: she was a part of its main cast in seasons five through ten, as well as in seasons twelve through fifteen. However, it has been determined that she will not return for Season 16.

This might seem confusing because she had said at one point, not too long ago, that she would return. So, let’s talk about what is going on with her before betting on her return at top-rated sportsbooks.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Before we can dissect the ramifications of the fact that Kenya Moore won’t return for Season 16, we should consider what the different cast members mean to this reality show in the first place.

The show does primarily two things:

  • It allows for dramatic moments to transpire between cast members.
  • It allows viewers to feel like they get to know cast members on a personal basis.

The personal level of familiarity that viewers gain with cast members also intensifies the dramatic moments that take place on the show. Given the drama and the personal intimacy, viewers of the show form strong opinions about its cast members. They will like or dislike some cast members. They won’t want to see some and may like some more than others.

Redeeming Perceptions of Kenya Moore

Kenya Moore is absolutely one cast member about whom viewers of the show form and express strong opinions. This is relevant to talk about because it will shine a light on the reasons why she is not returning for Season 16.

I don’t want to say that perceptions of Moore are universally negative. Cast members of the show are too complex, as people, to have everyone who watches them form the same, uniform opinion about them.

Upon considering Moore’s appearances on the show, there certainly are some things to like about her. For example, we’ve seen her comfort other people when they needed comforting. We also learn that her negative moments can be considered understandable in light of the difficult family life and difficult upbringing that she had to endure during her formative years.

Kenya Moore’s Unlikability

Kenya Moore, though, must overwhelmingly be considered to be an unlikable and bad person.

For one, her ego has often shown itself to be excessively large. She has a tendency to relish in a delusion that other people are focused on her and to consider that events are made for her. Her repetitive sense that she is in the center of things is annoying.

More alarmingly, she does things that make her seem outright evil. For example, she’ll react to being caught by calling other people liars instead of exhibiting any sense of accountability for her actions. Instead of taking accountability, she’ll play the victim, and yet she’ll insult other people viciously.

Her viciousness makes her liable to rightly be called a bully. A specific example of her rudeness and abrasive unpleasantness as a person is in some of her exchanges with Tanya.

Why Kenya Moore Won’t Return

Moore won’t return for Season 16 because of, you guessed it, terrible things she’s done.

Reportedly, she has been suspended from the series for an indefinite period of time. Bravo is the television network on which this reality series appears, and Bravo is the one determining that Moore will not return.

To be clear, this is a suspension, not a firing. She has been accused of leaking explicit photos of a new cast member, Brittany Eady. Moore is, in sum, accused of revenge porn.

If these accusations are true, it would really show how horrible of a person she is. Given her past and the strongly negative opinions that viewers have of her, the veracity of these accusations would perhaps not be so surprising.

It is understandable to me that she should not be let back onto the show because leaking someone’s explicit photos is truly a cruel thing to do. Viewers are even less likely to want to see someone who does such a thing. Such an evildoer should also not be rewarded with fame in any positive sense of the word.
