Call of Duty

As the year unfolds, the feverish anticipation and wild speculation around the Call of Duty series reach a boiling point. Despite the tantalizingly limited information available, fans of the legendary FPS are on high alert, knowing that the latest installment, CoD: Black Ops 6, is poised to storm the gaming world later this year, igniting a wildfire of excitement and curiosity.

Activision has kept much of the game a mystery to date, but with huge announcements expected at a special Call of Duty direct event later this week, let’s look at what we know about the upcoming game so far before betting on it at eSports betting sites.

CoD: Black Ops 6 – Quick Fire Answers

  • What Is Black Ops 6? The latest entry of the CoD Black Ops franchise.
  • Who’s the creator of CoD Black Ops 6? Rumors suggest Treyarch.
  • What’s the release date of Black Ops 6? No confirmation yet, but Q4 2024 is likely.

Xbox Games Showcase 2024

Mark your calendars for June 9th, 2024, at 01:00 P.M. ET, when Xbox will electrify the gaming community with its games showcase. The company has confirmed a dedicated segment to Call of Duty Black Ops 6, promising to unveil more thrilling details.

The CoD event doesn’t have an official start time, but it will occur directly after the main Xbox games showcase.

Black Ops 6 Teaser Trailers

As usual for the creators of Black Ops, teaser trailers for the highly anticipated game have been scattered throughout the official Call of Duty YouTube channel over the past two weeks. The first is the clip below. We’re presented with a group defacing Mount Rushmore, writing ‘The Truth Lies.’

Another teaser was dropped as we saw the same group hanging a poster with the same phrase.

The teaser trailers for Black Ops 6 have been a treasure trove of hints. The ‘open your eyes’ video, for instance, offers a glimpse into a potential setting for Black Ops 6, seemingly set in the 1990s. In the video, we spot two former American Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, suggesting a historical backdrop.

All teasers released thus far can be found on Activision’s TheTruthLies website, as you’re presented with a TV screen and the ability to cycle through six channels. Five of the six channels stream a different teaser, and one remains blank.

CoD: Black Ops 6 Official Trailers & Setting

Teaser trailers are cool, but we all want an official Black Ops 6 trailer. Activision hasn’t released gameplay footage at the time of writing, but a live-action trailer involving real-life actors playing several major historical figures was released.

Much like the aforementioned teasers, the trailer hints at a 1990s theme for Black Ops 6, which would likely cover the Gulf War and its fallout. The trailer portrays Colin Powell, former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, George Bush, Bill Clinton, and Saddam Hussein.

Based on the information in all trailers released thus far, we can strongly assume Black Ops 6 will be set in 1990, particularly the fallout following Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990. However, whether or not Activision alters the history books is yet to be seen, as they’re known to add a spin on things in the past.

What about CoD: Black Ops 5?

I know the question on many people’s minds is, what happened to Black Ops 5? While an official ‘Black Ops 5’ title was never used, Black Ops: Cold War was the fifth entry into the popular series, and it seems Activision has counted this as five.
