GTA 6 release

Between now and the official release of GTA VI, franchise fans will eagerly await every ounce of information, including new trailers, gameplay features and everything in between.

While in-depth details on the upcoming blockbuster criminal simulator are scarce, we do have a release date and a potential price point to look for before betting on it at eSports betting sites.

When Is the GTA 6 Release Date?

Although gaming insiders have recently doubted GTA 6’s potential 2025 release, which was initially revealed in the GTA VI debut trailer, Rockstar Games’ sister company, Take-Two, has claimed that the most anticipated game in history will be released in Autumn 2025.

In a recent interview with CNBC, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, discussed how the GTA VI release date can be estimated:

“There are elements that you can measure. For example, the number of bugs. However, in the case of an extraordinary title with tremendous expectations, it’s not really about bugs. It’s about creating an experience that no one has seen before. (…) You’d expect a bit of hyperbole from a game publisher, but when the game in question is the latest in one of the best-selling franchises of all time, those words carry more weight.”

I understand that the above comments from Zelnick hold a level of vagueness, but don’t shoot the messenger – he did sound very confident in the Autumn 2025 release date timing:

“There is a slippage in the industry, and we’re not immune to that. However, we narrowed the timing because we are highly confident of that timing,” Zelnick added.

Zelnick’s interview followed an official financial report regarding GTA VI’s release date for investors:

“Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI. We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase.”

So, while we don’t have a precise release date, mark September, October and November 2025 on your GTA 6 calendars because it’s a highly probable timeframe. So cancel the fireworks and Halloween parties, as we’ll already be creating mayhem in Vice City before Santa pops down the chimney for X-Mas 2025.

How Much Will GTA 6 Cost?

Zelnick is back again; this time, he discussed pricing on Take-Two’s complete catalog during an earnings call. However, the question hinted at GTA 6’s price point; in other words, he told us to expect $70 for the game’s price at the minimum.

Take-Two was the first publisher to label a game with a price of $70 when NBA 2K21 dropped, and Zelnick explained why:

“Regarding frontline pricing for NBA 2K21, I think that worked out as much as expected. As planned, it’s in a premium offering at the highest possible level; the title was built from the ground up for next-gen, so it is the first title here that has been created that way. And the acceptance by consumers has been nothing short of extraordinary.”

While it’s not a definite confirmation, it’s highly likely that we’ll be shelling out at least $70 for GTA 6, based on the pricing strategy of Take-Two’s recent game releases.
